Chris Brown’s Probation Revoked, Faces Jail Time
More troubles have arose in Chris Brown's world.
According to TMZ.com, the singer's probation has been revoked in the Rihanna case, in part because he was present at two separate nightclubs when people inside were shot.
Brown appeared in court Thursday (Jan. 15) for a progress report, where a judge told him there was multiple problems with his probation report. It mentions the shooting last week in San Jose where he performed... and five people were injured in the shooting. The judge also expressed concern over the incident at 1OAK during MTV's VMAs weekend last August, where Suge Knight was shot.
Furthermore, the judge made mention of Brown leaving the county for San Jose without getting the court's permission, which is a violation of his probation.
As for the reason why the shootings were an issue, the judge noted that were was no evidence, so far, that the singer was criminally involved, but the probation officer said, "There is also concern that when he performs or attends at some of his public events, people will get shot or seriously injured."
Additionally, the probation officer noted that Chris has been arrested twice while on probation -- once for assault in DC and also for throwing a rock at his mom's car in rehab.
The probation officer recommended to the judge that Chris serve time. The officer said Brown has shown "a pattern of making choices that are counterproductive."
A formal hearing is set for March 20. If the judge determines Chris "willfully" violated probation, he could face time in prison. Stay tuned...
