Dr. Dre Signs Texas Rapper Justin Mohrle
Dr. Dre may be counting all that paper he made from the sale of Beats Music to Apple, but he's still keeping his ear to the pavement. According to D Magazine, the producer has signed a new artist named Justin Mohrle.
In the magazine's profile of the Texas native, it says that the white rapper was discovered by Dre via a demo tape that he recorded with The D.O.C.
Mohrle has since been spending all his time in the studio with Dr. Dre, writing and recording.
"JT and I worked on a couple songs; Dre fell in love with the songs; Dre stole the songs from the kid, because he wanted to put them out as a unit," The D.O.C. told the magazine. "That's the way this house is rolling. We're all putting our energy toward building another classic for The Good Doctor. Then he's going to take his time to help us build a classic for the youngster."
Though he won't be releasing any new music until Christmas, Mohrle says he's already worked with the likes of BJ The Chicago Kid and Gwen Stefani.
"With the situation I'm in, Dre could decide to drop a track tomorrow, and then I might not be able to ever go to the mall again like this. By myself,” he said.
