Lil Wayne Disses Cash Money On “Sorry 4 The Wait 2″
Lil Wayne has the Internet going nuts, following the release of his new mixtape, Sorry 4 The Wait 2, in which he disses longtime record label, Cash Money.
On the mixtape's first track, a remix of O.T. Genasis' "CoCo," the rapper takes credit for Cash Money's ongoing success. "Tha Carter gon' be late so I cooked up a tape," Weezy spits on the intro, "The garden's full of snakes, so I had to escape."
"Who kept this sh*t together? N*gga, me, that's who," he continues in the opening bars, "Who was there when n*ggas left? Nigga, me, that's who / Cash Money is an army, I'm a one man army / And if them n*ggas comin' for me, I'm goin' out like Tony."
Later, Wayne says he just wants what he's owed... and not a war. "Now I don't want no problems, I just want my money," he spits. "Birdman Jr., more like Ugly Duckling."
Wayne also points out the success of artists he signed, Drake and Nicki Minaj: "I ain't trippin', I got Barbie, I got Drake too," and then later, "All I got is Young Money, no more Cash, n*gga."
The Cash Money references don't stop there. On the mixtape's second track, "Sh!t," Wayne addresses the ongoing feud: "Did my time in Cash Money, time served and released / But this agent ain't free, word, that's the word on these streets / But that sh*t is old news, that sh*t is so yesterweek."
